Profile

Renate is a multidisciplinary artist and professional set, lighting and costume designer with a background in performance and social theatre facilitation. She has worked with numerous companies in Newfoundland (Theatre Newfoundland Labrador, RCA Theatre, NAX, Artistic Fraud of Newfoundland, White Rooster, C2C), as well as in Edmonton, Toronto, and London, UK. Her work in art and space science includes research and publications on the role of art and space in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) education, as well as interdisciplinary artistic creation with the European Space Agency for the European Astronaut Centre/International Space Station. The language of light is a key focus in her work in theatre, visual art, creative writing, and space and society research.
